(Section 1) Hero block
LLM-ready and built to connect your CRM and synced QuickBooks data with the apps and AI tools your business already uses.
(Section 2) Connect Method to everything your business runs on
Method’s REST API makes the information in your CRM a connection point for more of your business, including the QuickBooks data that syncs into Method. Use it to:
- Connect e-commerce platforms or internal tools to customer and order data.
- Send Method information to reporting dashboards and external business systems.
- Build AI workflows around permitted Method records and custom fields.
Direct QuickBooks API connections require app registration and specific permissions. Method offers another route to the QuickBooks-connected data available in your CRM, but it does not replace the QuickBooks API or provide unrestricted access to QuickBooks.
(Section 3) Bring your existing tools into Method
With Method, you can bring the tools you are already using under the Method umbrella by connecting the following via API.
E-commerce and order management
Connect to Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon Seller Central, or a customized e-Commerce system
Shipping and fulfillment
Provide relevant info to your warehouse system as well as other fulfillment tools
Communication and collaboration
Brings Method workflows directly into Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Trello.
Reporting and data
Send Method data to Microsoft Power BI, Google Sheets, or alternatives.
Marketing and lead capture
Create and capture leads from all sorts of different places, like Unbounce pages and website forms.
Operations integrated
Integrate different elements of your operation with ease, like supplier portals and dispatch systems.
(Section 4) Put AI to work on your Method data
Method’s REST API can serve as the data and action layer behind Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or another custom assistant. With authenticated access, an assistant can retrieve and summarize permitted records and complete controlled updates.
Review customer context
Ask Claude to find the latest lead or summarize a customer’s open orders.
Summarize operational work
Review scheduled and unassigned work orders, then flag missing details or possible scheduling conflicts.
Complete approved actions
Create a follow-up activity or update a work order only after the user confirms the change.
These workflows are not automatically available when you generate an API key. The assistant must be given account-specific context about where the data lives, including which Method tables, fields, and record types represent the workflow.
Requires setup and authenticated API access. An MCP server is not required.
(Section 5) Build around the way your business works
Method’s API lets you customize the CRM to fit how your team does business. Instead of being forced to follow a rigid workflow across all departments, you can build bridges between different systems and build on how your team actually works.
Link your core systems
Bring together data from orders, appointments, and payment info into the pre-existing process your team manages in Method.
Reduce repeated entry
Keep customer and job information aligned across connected tools so staff do not have to recreate the same record in several places.
Move work forward
Convert a form entry or occurrence from an outside source into the next action, advance a file, or trigger a follow-up action.
Create purpose-built tools
Create internal experiences based on how your organization’s quoting process works or responds to a customer request.
See what needs attention
Feed Method information into a report or dashboard to see which feeds are delayed, which tasks have an incomplete status, or which accounts require follow-up
Add AI assistance
Use AI to prepare summaries or draft next steps while keeping consequential actions behind permissions and approval points.
Generating an API key is only the first step. Each connection still has to be designed around your Method data and operating rules.
(Section 6) A flexible REST API for your Method data
Use Method’s REST API to work with authorized account data through predictable resource URLs and JSON requests.
Available capabilities
- Read permitted records or add, replace, modify, and remove them.
- Change selected fields through PATCH without replacing the rest of the record.
- Shape results with filters, sorting, field selection, and expanded relationships.
- Summarize data with counts, sums, averages, minimums, maximums, distinct values, grouping, and pre-aggregation filters.
- List, upload, download, associate, or remove files linked to records.
- Request an immediate record sync with a connected QuickBooks or Xero account.
- Authenticate through an API key, OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code, or OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials flow.

(Section 7) Get support from people who know Method
Method provides a super simple way for experienced developers to get started. Developers can authenticate with an API key and work with documented JSON endpoints.
Method expert support is highly recommended for non-developers. An expert can turn the intended workflow into a tested connection without putting live or accounting-connected data at unnecessary risk.
Map the account correctly
Identify which of the custom tables and permissions dictate what data is stored and where.
Protect live data
Add validation, testing, and approval logic before the integration creates new records or updates existing ones.
Move from setup to launch faster
Avoid preventable configuration mistakes and spend less time debugging an integration built on the fly.
Find problems sooner
Determine whether an issue comes from authentication, field mapping, API limits, or the connected application.

(Section 8) Build safeguards into every connection
A valid response only confirms that the API accepted a request. It does not guarantee that the integration selected the right record type or followed your business rules. Build each connection around the structure of your Method account.
Safeguards to include
- Protect credentials. Store keys securely and replace them immediately if they are exposed.
- Map data carefully. Confirm the correct tables, fields, and record types for your account.
- Restrict actions. Limit the connected tool to the work it needs to perform.
- Test before launch. Validate requests before allowing them to change live records.
- Make problems visible. Log API activity, report errors, and monitor usage limits.
- Require confirmation. Add approval before deleting records or changing financial information.
AI workflows should also stop and ask for clarification when required information is missing instead of filling gaps with assumptions.
(Section 9) Plan for your API usage
The method applies account-level limits to keep API activity manageable. A create or update request can include one main record and up to 50 related records, helping integrations complete multi-record transactions with fewer calls.
100 requests
Maximum API requests per minute for each Method account.
50 related records
Maximum related records that one request can create or update.
5,000 + 1,000
Daily requests start at 5,000, plus 1,000 for each active license, up to 75,000.

(Section 10) FAQ
Can I connect Method and QuickBooks data to another app?
Yes. As long as you have permission in Method to allow an outside or third-party application to access your permitted records using Method’s REST API, that third-party application will be able to view all of your permitted data in Method, which includes QuickBooks-synced information.
Which applications can I connect to Method?
Your Method account can be connected with applications that exchange data via a REST API. Examples of such applications include e-commerce platforms, reporting software, scheduling software, and internal systems. Not every application listed under “named” applications will have a pre-built integration with Method. The compatibility of each application’s API and the way the connection is set up will determine whether they can integrate with Method.
Can I connect Claude to Method?
Yes. An authenticated request using the Method API will allow Claude to retrieve permitted information and take approved actions within the Method system. Instructions would need to be provided on which part of your account represents the process you wish to use for this integration. Approval criteria will also need to be provided before updating live data in the system.
Does Method have an MCP server?
No. That being said, a native MCP server is not required to connect to a cognitive service such as Claude or another AI solution. The MCP layer could potentially be added by a developer if they so choose
Is the Method API only for developers?
No, but establishing a reliable connection through the API does require some level of technical expertise. Developers who are comfortable working with APIs and have experience using Method’s or similar companies’ documentation and test tools will find it easy to connect their application. All others should seriously consider hiring a Method expert or a qualified integration consultant to assist them in their connection efforts.
Is the Method API free?
The API is available at no additional cost to Method customers and trial users. A Method account is still required, and other costs may apply after the trial period. Connected applications or middleware may charge their own fees. Custom development and expert implementation work may also create separate project costs.
Can I use the API to customize Method?
You may be able to enhance a customized Method account via the API by enabling it to link permissible data tables and fields to other external systems. The API will also allow you to build tools that align with how your company operates. However, the API does not replace the customization options found natively in Method. In most cases, the optimal way to create a configuration is to combine account-level customization with the creation of an API connector that aligns with the pre-existing structure.
What support is available?
Method provides REST API documentation with authentication guidance and implementation examples. Developers can also use the OpenAPI specification or Method’s Postman resources for testing. For account-specific help, customers can contact Method Support or work with Method experts. The r/MethodCRM community provides another place to ask questions and learn from other users.
How can I build a secure and reliable Method API connection?
Do not store credentials within public code or prompts. Map each request to the appropriate Method table before testing your requests in a test environment. Errors should be reported by the connection, and the connection should maintain an activity log to enable troubleshooting. Obtain approval from a person prior to making deletions and/or changes to financial data.
